Why Backup is Important for Accounting Information System ?

There is not much to write since Sir Fendy only told us a bit about the importance of backing up. Therefore, in order to provide more useful information, I have combined both the information told by Sir Fendy and a few research made by me on the internet so that we all can get a bigger picture on why backup is important for Accounting Information System.

Based on Oxford Dictionary, backup is defined as computing the procedure for making extra copies of data in case the original is lost or damaged. I did some research and I had discovered that backing up is a standard security procedure in accounting systems. Backing up just an in case something happens to the system such as flood, computer damage, fires and other looses, the data is still safe and can be restored. Just imagine when the company data is missing, for sure it creates havoc to the company especially for the accounting department. Therefore, a good security measure is to perform overnight backups as well as to restore backups once in a while to make sure that the data is safe and usable.

To conclude, backup is important for Accounting Information System because let say if there is something happens to the company especially at the Accounting Department due to certain problems that may be occured, it would not creates a big havoc as the precious data can still be restored.
